Review: My name is Leo and I want to share my story at Valley Grace Home, where I was once a patient. I came to Valley Grace sometime in 2021, I had a whole load of problems. I was on a ventilator, I had a tracheostomy, I had wounds on the back of my head from the hospital I was at. I couldn’t get out of bed because I was so weak and so sick.Over the years I gradually got better thanks to the people caring for me. My wounds healed because they had daily wound treatments. The respiratory therapist here got me off the ventilator through a slow and safe process and eventually the tracheostomy was removed because I was doing so well. In all that time I was receiving physical therapy, I was nervous at first but I eventually got out of bed and was walking. At the time I was 420 lbs, it wasn’t easy for me especially since I was laying in bed at the hospital for so long, I was very weak. Through my will power and with the help of the physical therapists here I was walking and transferring with assistance and they worked with me so much I eventually became independent it just took time.I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, Valley Grace saved my life. The people here saved my life. I believe had I gone anywhere else I would not be where I am today. I’m nearly independent now, I had to adjust to my new way of life but it’s a life worth living. God bless Valley Grace I’m thankful for all they have done.
