Review: No one can predict when it’s time to move a loved one into assisted living. My mom’s time came unexpectedly. Castlemere Senior Homes was recommended by a dear friend, and we could not have made a better choice. My mom was treated with love and respect, and the entire staff did all they could to make the last year of her life as joyful as possible. I highly recommend Castlemere Senior Homes for anyone that is looking for a new home for a loved one.

Review: My mother spent about 18 months at Castlemere Senior Homes. Veronica is a lovely person and very communicative and helpful! She works very hard to make sure the home is clean and staffed with competent caregivers. They were especially skilled at medication administration and always greeted us with a smile. The home is bright and airy and the backyard is especially lovely. I was mostly happy with the care provided, but my mom was always put to bed very early (5:30 or 6:00 at night and left completely unattended until about 7:00 or 8:00 in the morning - that is more than 12 hours - which is way too long for any resident. They discouraged using the bathroom at night and relied on diapers which led to constant UTI's for my mom. Ultimately, this schedule proved too problematic for my mom's physical health so I had to move her despite me making repeated requests to have a regular bathroom visit during the night - they only obliged a few times and seemed to make my mom feel guilty about pressing her button to use the bathroom during the night. It was obvious the caregivers, after working during the day, wanted their evenings uninterrupted.) Although my mom had a private room, there is no private bathroom for the residents. The bathroom used by them is inside a shared bedroom down the hall from my mom's private room. There is a private bath in the hallway but that is for caregivers only, which is unfortunate. My mom felt uncomfortable using a bathroom in two other people's bedroom. I also wish there had been more organized activities to keep the residents engaged, of which there was little to none. But, overall, I appreciate Veronica and her staff because they were caring towards my mom. It was just not the right fit. My mom is alert and social and enjoys interaction so perhaps at a different stage of life things would have been better.

Review: Castlemere was WONDERFUL for the final months that my father was alive. After a horrible experience at an assisted living facility in Newhall, my sister and I needed to find a new location where the medical needs of our father would be properly addressed. Veronica and her staff were SO accommodating and helpful. My dad was treated like one of the family, and when he passed, the nurses were thoughtful, compassionate, and empathetic. I cannot recommend Castlemere enough if you are looking for a quality board and care.

Review: In this challenging era of COVID, Castlemere has been a Godsend. Our mother, age 95, was in a memory facility in Arizona, where we could not see her. Her condition deteriorated in the last few months, and we wanted to bring her home to Valencia. Fortunately, we found Veronica and Castlemere. What a beautiful home, filled with truly loving and caring staff members. We transported Nana from Arizona to Castlemere, where she was welcomed and cared for around the clock. Her care was outstanding -- the staff is experienced, responsive and incredibly kind. The house itself is lovely. Most importantly, we were welcome to spend time with Nana with no time limit. COVID protocols are strictly enforced, but what a joy to be able to be with our mother -- unlike assisted living facilities or memory care facilities. Sadly, Nana died 10 days after arriving, but she passed peacefully surrounded by family and love. I will never forget the kindness extended by Veronica, Ronnie and Resty. I recommend this incredible home to other families seeking to find a loving place for their family member.
