Review: Our mother has been living here for a year and the staff have become like family. Everyone is very friendly, helpful and willing to go out of their way to make sure mom is comfortable. Rooms are always clean and the patio is beautiful and full of fruit trees. We visit 2-3 times a week and always find everything professional and highly cared for. Breath of Sunshine is really superior to other board and care facilities!

This place is truly a home for her with caring and well trained staff, freshly made daily food and very clean environment with amazing backyard. Fruit trees make everybody happy and kindness of Sunshine family members are profoundly appreciated.

Review: I wrote this but didn’t post it yet… is there anything you wound want to add? I said Mary was my mother.“Breath Of Sunshine was just amazing. I had to find a peaceful place for my mother where she would be well taken care of. I was not disappointed. Ruzanna and the staff we’re just like family. The home is exceptionally clean and shiny and always smelled good, especially the home cooking from their staff which was even more of a plus and there’s always food cooking for different needs of the different residents. Breath of Sunshine was quiet and peaceful, but also fun with daily activities or relaxing outside on the patio having lunch or dessert if the weather was nice. The care they give the residents is something you cannot compare to a large facility. Everyone was treated like family and loved. I would visit almost every day and they would always treat me kind and respectfully as this was a difficult time for me, even always offering me coffee, water, juice and pastries or even lunch. They took very good care of my mother. She was always clean, hair washed & combed, clean clothes, clean teeth and she was even smiling being there with them. Her bedroom was kept very clean with sheets being cleaned daily, and the floor is mopped all the time, medications were given in a timely manner as directed. They celebrated holidays, birthdays, and occasions. Resident were encouraged to sit at the dining room table and have meals together if they preferred, which was lovely and always had fresh flowers, it was like being with your family. Each bedroom has a big screen TV but also there is a living room with recliners where the residents could recline, relax and watch TV if they wanted to be with others. Residents were well nourished and hydrated with lots of fruit , water, juice and of course sweet treats. When I couldn’t get there, they would text me and tell me how my mother was doing also taking pictures of her enjoying her day or being peaceful, which gave me peace of mind because I couldn’t be there all the time. During the final weeks of my mother‘s life, they were constantly there checking on her talking to her, making her feel very comfortable and during the final hours a hospice nurse came and stayed in the room with her, I spent the night there during the final hours, and when she passed away very peaceful she was not alone, along with me was the hospice nurse, Ruzanna and the staff. It was the most peaceful time I could want, also for me in those final moments. It was very peaceful. I would give 10 stars if I could , I miss my mother very much, but Breath Of Sunshine I would highly suggest you just go there and meet the staff and look around you will be very impressed. I also miss Breath of Sunshine & plan to visit now & then, they have become my new extended family.”

Review: *(Please Read ) Board and Cares are like any other business, they only exist if they make a profit. Nothing wrong with that. Just do your due diligence and research them thoroughly. (This place cost $4,500 monthly. Not worth 45¢ in my opinion). No matter how much these facilities try to make you believe you're "family" when you arrive for your first visit. And make you feel welcome during your tour. Take your time visit as many as you can and revisit the ones that appeal to you. Many of these board and cares are owned by a nurse, a doctor, or a social worker. But it's usually not them that are providing care directly to your loved-one. It's usually one or two people that serve as a caretaker. Often these caretakers don't have much training and/or experience in the field. So, make sure you find out as much as you can about the caregivers that will be placing hands on those you entrust to these facilities. If you can, I strongly suggest going through a placement coordinator with your hospital. Not just picking out a place you found online; nor a national referral service. There are hundreds, if not thousands of board and cares in the Los Angeles area and each one will be run differently. Take your time and find the best one for your loved one.*You are the one in control in these places. Do not allow places like this to manipulate you into thinking you're not.
